Law 25 — Personal information protection
Last updated: 2026-10-10
1. About Law 25
The Act modernizing legislative provisions on the protection of personal information (commonly called "Law 25") aims to strengthen personal information protection in Quebec. It applies to any private business that collects, holds, uses or communicates personal information about people in Quebec. Mitsubishi Lévis complies across all its activities.
2. Privacy officer
Under Law 25, Mitsubishi Lévis has designated a personal information protection officer. The officer oversees protective measures, handles access and rectification requests, and ensures information is managed lawfully. To reach them: info@mitsubishilevis.ca.
3. Information collected
We collect only the information necessary for the specific purpose for which it is gathered: name, phone number, email, model of interest, messages sent via the request form, as well as site usage data (cookie, pages visited). Information involving biometrics, location or health data is not collected.
4. Purpose and consent
Collection happens for clear, legitimate purposes: responding to your request, preparing your visit, supporting your vehicle acquisition and, where applicable, informing you of Mitsubishi promotions in effect in Quebec. Your consent is freely and knowingly obtained for the specific stated purpose and may be withdrawn at any time, at no cost and without notice.
5. Individuals' rights
You have the following rights: access to your information, rectification of inaccurate information, withdrawal of consent, portability, and erasure to the extent permitted by law. You may also file a complaint about the protection of your information. These rights are exercised by writing to the officer at info@mitsubishilevis.ca.
6. Privacy by design and by default
Mitsubishi Lévis builds privacy into the design of its processes and its site, and applies privacy-by-default settings: collection limited to what's necessary, access restricted to authorized people, and minimization of information shared with partners (manufacturer, lenders) to what's strictly needed for the purpose.
7. Transfer outside Quebec
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Limited sharing may occur with the manufacturer (Mitsubishi Motors) or financing partners solely to fulfill your acquisition request. When these recipients are established outside Quebec, we ensure they offer an equivalent level of protection, as required by Law 25.
8. Confidentiality incident
In the event of a risk of serious harm from an incident affecting personal information (loss, unauthorized access, disclosure), Mitsubishi Lévis takes reasonable steps to reduce the risks and damage, assesses the severity, and notifies the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec and the affected individuals when the law requires it.
9. Retention and destruction
Information is kept for as long as needed to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, then destroyed, anonymized or archived according to applicable retention rules.
10. Complaint
If you feel your rights have not been respected, you may first file a complaint with our officer at info@mitsubishilevis.ca. You always retain the right to file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI): cai.gouv.qc.ca.
11. In addition
This notice supplements our privacy policy and our terms of use. In case of discrepancy, this notice prevails on Law 25 matters.
